Behringer Power Supply Repairs

Over the last few years, I’ve performed repairs on Behringer mixers, such as the X2442USB. In almost every case, the power supply is defective. The defect is most often electrolytic capacitors. The power supply is a switch mode power supply, and it eats capacitors over time. It is critically important that the capacitors be replaced with high quality 105° units. If your mixer is exhibiting symptoms, there is a great probability that your power supply needs repair. Many of Behringer’s mixers use this model. If your mixer has an external power supply, it is not an SMSU2.

If you want to have your power supply repaired, send me an email to inquire as to whether I’m currently accepting repairs. I normally carry the parts in stock to perform a full repair. To keep the cost down (shipping and labor), just send the power supply, removed from the mixer. If you insist on sending the entire mixer, the cost will be higher.

Notes about these repairs: If the transformer is bad, you’re out of luck as it is not available. The flat rate repair price is $35 including all capacitors. That price does not include replacing the SMPS IC, which is $10 more. Shipping charges are additional. If I’m unable to repair your power supply, there is no charge except return shipping, if you want it back. Understand that not every problem with your mixer is caused by the power supply. My service is to update the capacitors and test the power supply to ensure that it is operating normally. If a renewed power supply does not fix your mixer problem, you might be able to sell the power supply on eBay and recoup your repair cost. Delivery and pickup is in Cary, NC by appointment only.
